Hello! Just thought I'd share a picture of mine.

My new Avalir 2 did not come with a DVD either. The distributor I dealt with explained to me that Kirby will not produce DVDs anymore as the same material can be viewed on Kirby's website or on their YouTube channel.

In 1979, to me, this was the prettiest upright vacuum.

Since the bag is solid gray and not speckle tone, I would venture to say that it is off of a 516. I don't believe the speckle tone bag was available until 1957 or maybe even 1958. The emptor fits a 516 and later.

I gave up on Kirby and bought A 2013 Aerus Lux Guardian upright. It's everything I need/want in an upright vacuum. It has more than adequate tool suction and grooms my rugs beautifully. I love the Sidekick, floor brush, filtration and the fact that it doesn't weigh a ton!

I would have loved to have been there in the good old days back when the VCCC was just a group of friends. I also wish I could have been there that day so I could have met you Charlie. Glad you guys had a nice reunion.
