    Robotic vacuums? Anyone?

That's a robot I'm excited about The Trademarked name of it is the Dyson 360 Visnav. Looks greatly improved. I own a Dyson 360, and it's very impressive, but mine has issues with the battery/charger. They quietly pulled the original 360 from the market in the US after a couple years, and I...

Been in a Dyson mood lately

I like em! I generally really enjoy using Dysons, as it's satisfying to see all the crud the vacuum has collected, and you can just empty them afterwards and move on. A lot of their models have their benefits and drawbacks, but my favorite models, and their cordless machines are still in my...

Opinions Wanted: Rug Doctor vs. Bissell Big Green

I much prefer the Bissell Big Green. It's the best standalone upright carpet cleaner on the market. The biggest drawback of the RD is that the clean water tank cannot be removed from the machine, so it's a huge hassle to wash the soap out, if you want to rinse the carpeting. I also think the...

The Miele S7 has landed in Canada!

If that's the case, that's very sad. The U1 was fantastic, and I can only hope Miele has something on-deck to replace it, as Americans love uprights. Would be a shame to see it leave the market.

The Miele S7 has landed in Canada!

What!? That's terrible news! How did you hear about this? I wonder if they have another upright planned for release soon? The U1 is one my favorite modern vacuums. If that's the case, that's VERY disappointing.

@panasonicvac The Miele U1 upright has been discontinued?

Has anyone ever heard of this strange kenmore

I own the Panasonic equivalent Called the Dual Sweep. This model had a few variants, but the brush setup underneath looks very similar to that Kenmore. It's actually a great cleaner, and cleans quite well. The dual-agitator setup on the Panasonic was better made than the setup Hoover used on...

In Search Of: Hoover Bearing Grease Gun

I love re-building classic Hoovers, and I make do with what I can, but a Hoover bearing grease gun would offer that extra level of assurance that any proud Hoover owner expects. If anyone is lucky-enough to have a spare, I'd eagerly take it off your hands. Thanks for your consideration!

Homeworld Business: Target Pulls Plug On New Hoover Z Upright (5/22/06)

Those bagged Eureka Smart Vacs were very aggressive, and good carpet cleaners, and they were pretty quiet too. At the time, I didn't think much of them (repaired a lot of them, the belt tensioner had problems), but looking back I can see why CR recommended them.

Homeworld Business: Target Pulls Plug On New Hoover Z Upright (5/22/06)

Thanks for sharing! That was interesting. My guess is that it was a combination of low initial sales, coupled with a high rate of returns. I can remember when that machine was in stores, and no one at the time taking it very seriously.

    Rainbow SRX Recalled

@luxlife I agree. I'd love to try one out. Hopefully they can iron out the kinks, and have another great evolutionary product. Of course I will have to wait until I can get one at a reasonable price. I think a lot of the new features on it look great.

    Rainbow SRX Recalled

That's gotta hurt! As least they're addressing it now, fairly early in its life cycle, rather than ignore it for years. Still, over 40,000 units that will need to be repaired... Up to this point Rainbow's have seemed fairly reliable, and I see lots of them on the used market.

Windtunnel self propelled brushroll spinning slow

I'd start with replacing that other belt. I hope it does the trick!

Windtunnel self propelled brushroll spinning slow

The Self-Propelled Windtunnel uses two belts. Under regular use, replacing both belts every year or so will make a huge difference in how it cleans, as the worn belts will cause the brushroll to slow down easily. Did you replace both belts?
