Rollers on Hoover FH51000 carpet machine

FH51000 is the exact model number shown on the decal on the back of the machine. The link you provided in msg. no. 5 is what I found online, and the pictures are too small to be of help as to the rollers.

Rollers on Hoover FH51000 carpet machine

I'd sure like to know what the one side looks like before I try to come up with a substitute. Meaning, the side that has a shallow cavity. Yes, a smaller roller could be put in there, but wouldn't have the same support height as the larger wheel on the other side.

Rollers on Hoover FH51000 carpet machine

FH51000 is an upright model, the tag suggests 2016 vintage but looking around online shows them being made earlier than this. I like to play around with deserving vacuum cleaners and carpet machines. This FH51000 came my way for not much money, it powered on okay and had brush roll action...

    Chinese Fantoms, including commercial

Fantom necro thread revived (maybe) Okay, here I was surfing the net for information on what belt to get for the Chinese Fantom FM788HG that I gave to one of my daughters many years ago. I used it a bit today at her house, only for around the edges but while doing so I discovered that there is...

    Strange vacuum cleaner sale story

One thing I know for sure. People don't all have the same values. This you can tell from visiting their homes. I think some of it is reflected in what values they were raised with as to order and cleanliness. Some people think nothing of living in complete filth. Yes, some people who grow...

    Strange vacuum cleaner sale story

I gave a 30 day guarantee on reconditioned machines that I sold. I didn't get many bounce-backs but when a customer called with a problem I made a serious effort to make them happy. I would guess that at least 75% of the bounce-backs I got were due to some foul-up on the customer's part. I...

    Strange vacuum cleaner sale story

One of if not the strangest for me. Until recently, I had a kind of small business that involved reconditioning and selling second hand vacuum cleaners. I did this for about nine years working out of my home. The advertising was free by way of Craig's List. It was very low overhead; it...

    Status of Hesco

Yes, I see their website is back up again. Just now I sent an email, let's see if it gets answered and not returned undeliverable.

Update on the 5.00 Goodwill G-5 Kirby,

I've seen more broken lower cord hooks on G-5's than any other G series model. If you're not too devout about originality, you can drill a hole in the side of the aluminum arm and fit a swiveling cord hook salvaged from a junker Kirby. You can get it to stay in a fixed position by drilling a...

    Status of Hesco

Anyone know what's going on at Hesco? I've been putting together an order with them, have one pending "ship complete." Normally, I email Nicole on their staff re. questions about price and availability. My last two emails have been returned undeliverable. I went to their web site and see...

    I used to hate these!

Those U6400 series bagged SP's are very decent product. I've probably sold more of these in the secondary market than any other single design. They've been made for well over 10 years. The later ones were assembled in Mexico and have a smaller, Chinese-made motor. Of the many I have in right...

    Panasonic vacuum motors

I've worked on many Kenmore canisters made 1990-present and the size of the motor has shrunk several times during that period. Generally, smaller devices that are required to work harder to accomplish the same work wear out more quickly than more robust parts. Bearings do go bad on these...

    TTI (candy, etc)

In my own observation, this subject has something to do with there the machines are made. I don't claim to be an expert, nor do I have any inside knowledge of how TTI does their business. My experience comes from having worked on many machines made before and after TTi. Hoover machines made...

    Bissel vacuums Good or bad

I work with vacuums in the, ahem, secondary market. I only "do" a couple of Bissell models. By far and away the more numerous is the Lift-Off. Due to their rather unique capabilities courtesy of the design, they are very popular and easy to sell. The other model I do occasionally is the...

    Vacuum: Hoover Conquest/Guardsmen Church

The bags on the dust cup models will allow dust blow-through after they get older. If you wash one of those bags, the blow-through will be enormous. Same comment applies to Sanitaire. If you buy replacements wholesale (HESCO), they aren't too expensive. The Conquest is definite step up from...
