If the vacuum is only 2 years old, then the cord winder should be repaired under warranty. Call the 1-800 number to talk to a rep at Aerus and see what they have to say if your dealer doesn't want to repair it at no charge. Also, if you have another dealer in the area, you can try calling them...

Thanks for the info Jeff! Yes it is a 565. The serial no. is almost worn off. I'll have to take another look. What machine would the wands with the red cuffs be from? The rug and floor nozzles do have the pin and the lower wand has the slot to allow them to rotate. Gary

This vac was posted locally on Facebook Marketplace yesterday. Only the 2nd time that I have seen an 'old' vac for sale locally. It looked to be in excellent condition so today I went and had a look and brought it home for $40. It is indeed in excellent condition...barely a scratch anywhere...
