What's wrong with Hoover Vacuum belts? A Convertible belt used to last a year or longer with hard use. Now they are lucky to last a couple of months with little use. And they won't stretch over the pulley. It's nearly impossible.

Don't know if you want to spend the money or not but from the sound of things you might be just as well off to replace the entire transmission. There are several on eBay.

My 66, but the bag is shot and I'm having trouble reproducing it. I've got a really close cloth outer bag match in color, but it's to big. I made the top narrower but now I need to take in the sides. It's too big and looks funny.
