Hi Folks,

I browsed the whole internet to find answers to my current problem with my 19 year old CYCLOVAC DL200 (240V Version). Here is what I did recently:

- one of the motors failed suddenly so I decided to replace both of them
- when trying to turn on the vacuum cleaner the engines run for a second and the circuit breaker of my house installations releases
- I installed an external inrush current limiter to my socket and everything worked fine for about two weeks
- today suddenly the vacuum does not run anymore, when turning on the motors run for a second or so and all you hear is a contnious clicking noise of the relay

What I tried was:
- only connecting one motor ==> no difference, still clicking relay
- measuring output voltage on the electronic board ==>235V, okay

Any ideas what might be wrong? Can the relay be defect or rather other electronic parts on the board? Since both motors are always start running for a second when the vacuum is turned on I would guess the engines are okay?

Any help is appreciated,

thanks Tom

...yes I think that would be necessary. But there is no source found on the net that offers such old hardware for the DL 200. Here is on picture of the board - does not look to bad I think. Just let me know if other details help - I will provide more pictures....

Whenever I have an electrical headscratcher like this I have learned to confirm all your grounds are clean and tight.

..absolutely, but in this case I am 100% sure everything is okay - but just checked once again and setup here is pretty simple - checked with voltmeter and should be all good.

What I meanwhile tried was as follows and brought new insights ;-)

- connected only one of the motors and plugged the vacuum directly into the socket without the current limiter ==> runs
- connected only the 2nd motor ==> runs
- connected both again ==> circuit breaker goes active
- bought a new current limiter ==> cleaner runs but in 1 /10 starts circuit breaker still goes active

Sounds a little strange to me....
