good find! this was the one my mom got scammed into buying in 2003 or 2004 from a kirby salesman, spent over $2,600 for the whole kit and setup. still have it but its got really run down and hasnt been used since 2014.

I currently have a Heritage 84 and a Sentria 2. Eventually I want to have the entire g series line. I have a liking for the grey ones, I like the ultimate g color scheme and I want to get the Sentria 1. Assuming that I have the entire g series line, I would also like to get the blue tradition. I can get all of the accessories for the ultimate g (shampooer, buffer, and sander). The full attachment set appears to be a bit of a challenge to find complete. I have toyed with getting the platinum or Avalir 2, but they are more similar to the Sentria. I think the Sentria 2 and older look more interesting.
 
"--want to have--"--I have at least half a dozen G series including Sentrias that need to GO and not for $2600 but the $40 would take vac,attachments,shampooer,zip brush,etc.Also have attachments in unique plastic case & more for blue Tradition and possibly one Tradition left.If you are serious call 423-268-4841 SOON before I have time to send all of these to dumpster or scrap metal truck!!Plan an easy drive,fill a truck and complete a collection.

The Ultimate G is one of my top 5 favorites from the G Series, I have one and I love it. I still remember the day when I first saw one back in 2002 I think it was or no later than 2003, I went to someone's house and they had like three or maybe four vacuums (one was probably a steamer). One was of course the Ultimate G recently bought out of the box, one was a VacuMaid central vac I believe, and a red Dirt Devil Ultra MVP that supposedly the Kirby replaced. I wasn't allowed to use the Kirby because it was "too brand new or too expensive" for me to use so I used the central vac instead, I also couldn't use the Dirt Devil because I was told that it broke. I even remember I was looking at the Dirt Devil tilting in some kind of bin out in the garage, wondered what the switch felt like so I switched it but not knowing it was plugged in so it turned on and spooked me to death so I quickly turned it off.

I never had never seen a Kirby in person until I bought my Heritage 84. The most premium vacuum I seen at anyone’s house was an 8955. Most of my family all had Hoovers, mostly Windtunnels. My grandmother tried the first Windtunnel bagless, she hated it and sent it to basement for my grandfather to use. My grandparents always replaced their vacuums after about 6 or 7 years, same with any other appliances. After the Hoover phase, my family moved into an Oreck phase. I would probably recommend Kirby the most, if the weight isn’t a problem.

That was usually the end of life for the vacuum, he tends to be rough with them. Grandma got tired of her Oreck and sent it down to him, and bought a Dyson. He managed to tear the outer bag of of the machine, the bagless windtunnel didn’t last long with him. He tends to push them rather hard into the couch, the basement vac also goes out to the carpeted porch. Grandma has said that her Hoover celebrity QS was her favorite, but she never owned another canister. My other grandparents kept their vacuums until they couldn’t tape them anymore, then they went to the basement.

Well I receive this Kirby tomorrow, but the OCD me had to do my Tuesday vacuuming so I got my Sentria 2 out. I haven’t used a Kirby in probably 8 months. I can say after using my other premium vacs, I felt the difference in the Kirby. The carpet feels extremely clean with the Kirby and looks like I just shampooed. I would probably use my Kirby more if I kept it in a more accessible closet. The ultimate g will be staying in one of my bedrooms for the time being, so I should use it more often!

You do realize 20 years have passed right? 2003 was over 20 years ago. It's just what happens. I think one time when I was a teenager it fell down the stairs. I stopped using it in 2014 as it was around that time stores stopped selling bags for it and the front wheels got worn down and kept falling off the axle. Also the motor sounds funny like its always raised up high. This is average wear and tear on a vacuum for this duration of time no matter how well kept it is. The other thing is vacuum shops charged $100 just to look at it and then told me parts are NLA (front axle, wheels). So its just sat in the garage since then because at the time I did not know how to fix it and was not a collector.

If you want to talk about truly bad, I just bought a Kirby Avalir II for $30 that only rolled off the assembly line in July 2023. The motor is locked up, the metal is corroded, its missing a hubcap on the wheel, the brushroll is gone, the nozzle is gone, the handle is gone, the bag is gone, the belt is gone, the fan has nics and scratches in it, the power cord itself smells like that burned electrical fire smell, and someone tried to take it apart and stripped a few of the screws which need to be drilled out. How all that happened in less than a year and a half, search me.

It sounded like it was abused, quit and was parked for ages. I used to work at a BMW motorcycle dealership part time in grad school. I saw so many expensive motorcycles, really nice high end German bikes, parked outdoors at the ocean all corroded with a torn seat and faded paint and the bike was only a couple of years old. I have never understood people buying really expensive high quality products and then treating them so poorly. I am the opposite. I have a BMW motorcycle I bought new in 1984, put over 300,000 miles on it ( it has crossed 18 states and 11 foreign nations under my keister ) and it still looks almost new. No corrosion anywhere, a few minor whoopies in the paint but from ten feet ( 3 meters for our European friends ) all you see is shine. The bike looks like new. Same for my 18 year old V-Rod with 54,000 miles. When I fork out that much money for something I take excellent care of it but a lot of our customers at the BMW dealership treated their bikes like a used Kawasaki. Just hammered. Then they whined when stuff broke : /
 
I received my ultimate g in good condition! It definitely hasn’t been serviced since it was made in 2002. I noticed that the tech drive felt more responsive than my Sentria 2. I also noticed that the motor sounds quieter than my Sentria 2. I also like the squared handle better than the Sentria 2, I would definitely choose the g models before Sentria if I had to choose.
 
I like the ultimate g Kirby logo, but I wonder why they changed it from the g6. The Kirby logo on the g6 looked more modern than the ultimate g Kirby logo. I also found an Easter egg, the bag fill tube adapter has the heritage generation Kirby logo on it.
