First off, apologies for not being as active on this site as of recently. I haven't been quite as into vacuums as I once was (don't worry, I've got no plans of dropping my love for them anytime soon), and I'm still reeling from the devastation that is this site's remodel. However, today I've got something to share that you guys might be interested in...
So I was walking home today when I saw this lady who lives on my street throwing out a vacuum. At first, I wasn't too interested in it, as from where I was standing, it looked like a ProLux or Koblenz machine, but when I got a closer look, it turned out to be this Panasonic upright with a cord reel. Now, I'm not the type to regularly trash-pick vacuums, especially if they're ones that I have not much interest/personal connection to, however... I kinda couldn't help myself...
I haven't done much of an inspection of the machine, aside from eyeing it down and opening up the bag chamber. I'm not entirely sure what I'll do with it if it works/if I can clean it up. I'm not really a Panasonic guy. I mean, I don't hate them, I just don't have much experience or familiarity with them. The only other one in my possession is my Jet-Flo MC658U, which I do like that one, but it's kind of worse for ware. Also, it's extremely ironic that I find this machine now of all times, because I literally just bought myself a machine off of Ebay yesterday (that's another story that I'll post about when the time comes). Anyways, I was told that the only thing wrong with it is... well, the broken handle. However, it wouldn't surprise me if there were motor/cord reel problems too, but again, I wasn't that thorough in my inspection.
Regardless, before I do anything, I gotta get it to my dad's house before the weather takes a turn, but I also need to do so without my mom seeing, as she does not approve of me trash-picking vacuums (to that I say her objections are kind of ridiculous, as I don't bring these machines into the house, and never will).
So, does anybody have any info on this Panasonic? Is it rare? What's its serial date? it a decent machine? Can I get HEPA bags and filters for it?
