If I use the 18w 921 bulbs in my Hoover Convertibles, will the world come to an end? Will my face melt ala George Lucas Nazi staring at the lost ark of the covenant? Will it melt my Hoover's LS-2 lamp sockets? Does anyone know what the consequences of this risky behavior is? Have I bought a dozen of the wrong kind of bulb? Please help!!!!

With incandescent household lamps and lighting fixtures, there is always a warning posted not to exceed the rated wattage when replacing their bulbs due to the risk of fire (e.g. a 100-watt bulb in a 60-watt lamp.) I'm not sure if the small, low-voltage wedge-base bulbs would pose the same risk, but I would advise against using the higher wattage bulbs in your cleaner. Is there any way you can return or exchange those bulbs for the proper, 12-volt ones? After all, it would certainly be preferable to possibly ruining such a fine cleaner which you obviously put so much work into.

it wont end the world, but you wont like when it warps the hoods of your convertibles and melts the headlight lenses...

btw the proper voltage bulbs for convertibles are 15v double bayonet bulbs. you can get a pair at lowe's for $4.
