Congratulations!

Technically speaking your Canadian Elux-O-Matic cleaner is a model ZB89 (Z is the international symbol for 'integer' and originates from the German term 'zahl' - meaning 'number' in English, and B likely represents modifications unique to the 'bilingual' nation of Canada). The ZB89 was equipped with the standard hose inlet for a hose with an attached cord and was made from 1968-1970. Incidentally, the first digit of the serial number represents the year (eg. 8 would be 1968).

In 1970 the model ID was revised by eliminating 'ZB' and adding an 'E' at the end - 89E - to correspond with the revision of an 'electric' hose inlet which allowed the connection of the hose coupler with electric prongs (the hose's wires were factory-embedded in the hose lining). It was manufactured from 1970-1973.

Both tanks look identical.

Enjoy using your newly-filtered Electrolux with improved airflow.
