Oh....

And FYI....My Heritage II manual shows it offerd the model witht the shake out bag. So maybe Jeff's is a shakeout bag or does ur Heritage use bags Jeff?

I love the DS50...

My personal classic Kirby is the DS50 because of the memories it holds for me. My grandma had one and now they gave it to me. Here's a pict next to my Sentria. I'm just beginning to restore her. The DS50's name is Gerry, named after my grandma (Geraldine) and the Sentria's name is Freda (named after my grandma's best friend)

I guess that Heritage 84 isn't that rare after all...

Jeff,
I didn't know the Classic Omega had an optional bag with a full zipper on the back.

Christine,
That DS50 looks so good with that large, round bag. The Sanitronics are my second favorites. Here is my San. VII with my Classic 1-CR:

I forgot to mention...

...that my Kirby San VII has a different bag than the original San VII bag. The one I put on has a slide topper that is covered by that piece of fabric.

I have so many it's hard to choose

D-80 (Love the color)
Omega
Tradition
Though I like the tech drive, Not overall crazy about the G series. I do have an Ultimate G, Like the Omega the bestest of the two.

That was the first time I ran my first D50

It was clearly the best as it has the orig bag & I think brushroll.

It is missing the top cord hook which I have since gotten on 2 other D50's which are mostly orig except for last by only having the later wide spaced oval bags.

I think that bag isn't on exactly right but I'm not playing with it.

I washed it in the tub like I do them all with the emp.

I have to run them all again as I want to compare the motors now that I have heard a few but with 4 of them & all these others its getting hard to find a place to test them...

So I take them to vacant apts sometimes & let them run around

LOL

My favorite which I don't own

Is the older Kirby think its the 505
heavy chrome & black bag.

I like all the all chrome hoods & black bags

That's just looks though

I'd be afraid of running the older machines as I like to limit to last 50 years or so...

LOL

It didn't. Thanks to the generosity of a friend, the zipper was installed in an original Omega bag for me. I used a Tradition Emptor and a Heritage I bag conversion, with a Heritage II bag connector.
Its the only classic Omega I know of with its original bag that uses Hepa bags!

One of my D50's came with that fabric top bag

The bag is actually in pretty good condition

Think that one has no zipper

These D50's are my 2nd & 3rd

The one running is a Kirby rebuilt in 85
It was a test run with a FnG bag in it
but it really restricted suction as I guess the bag got crimped on the way up

The other one seems to have the best motor for some reason
which is probably the brushroll
but it sounds better than my first more original one
I haven't worked on that one yet & it needs polishing.

Still will have to do alot of mix & match there & make one or 2 complete machines to keep

I totally agree with that. On the DS50 you put the FnG bag in, the front wheels look like dualies. How did you do that?

Nama's little salesman :)

This is a pic of me with my grandmothers D-80 that I had rebuilt this past February. Every time I would go to her and Papa's house (yes I still call them Nama and Papa :) ) I would run and find wherever she had the Kirby hiding at the time and drag it out and play with it ALL day long.. This past Sunday, I surprised her and Papa with a newly refurbished,GLEAMING G-3. It brought Nama to tears... they have truly been the only ones to really ever support me with my hobby...they are awesome... enjoy :)

Kirbys

I'll post a pic of my Kirby collection as soon as my Heritage II arrives, which should be sometime between now and Saturday... I will then have 11 total...10 for my collection and inside use, and then a trusty ol' Classic Omega that I keep in the garage for cleaning out the cars.

What a dear pic w your granda's d80!

The double wheels came like that

I think it was a 80's fad
They sold longer screws that would fit 2 wheels.

I am going to try to match the original front screws & put back on wheel..

Anyway I can use the 2 extra wheels to the D50 I have that has wide lime wheels
Go figure

Kirbys have always been my favorite, as my first vacuum was a FrankenKirby. I will never get rid of that vacuum for sentimental reasons, of course.

But, my favorite of my few Kirbys would have to be my Dual Sanitronic 80, simply because it works like a dream and is in A+ condition! It also has the big box of attachments, including an original hose and the manual. It's on display in my music room now.

~~K~~

For Me it is the Kirby Classic and the Generation 6 2000 Edition. I love the gold bag and the woodgrain handle on the Classic. And I love the black and gold on the G6 and the Self Propelled. I also have become fond of the Kirby Tradition that my Friend has.
