My favorite convertible...
My new JCPenney (Penncrest) convertible. This was given to be by Stephan Neal, it is perfect and it purrs like new, not a bad rumble or anything.

Check these neat Penncrest vacuum cleaners from the May 8, 1969 St. Petersburg FL newspaper. I found this while I was rifiling through AW.org. These of course are Hoover and Eureka clones. I figured it would go good in this thread.

Is definitely the model 69.
Love the color, love the feel of it, love the sound of it. I think it's right about when the Convertible was at its best.

I have two faves ...
... the 70 and the 1070. I'm partial to the 70 'cuz it was first introduced in the same year that I was born, and to the 1070 because I just love everything about it!

I just purchased a Hoover U4373 Convertible (I think it's 80's and later actually) but I'm so curious about these models in general -- what's convertible about them? 
I can say that mine comes with the red outer cloth bag and it's a fill bag (it states "To Fit Hoover" so it must not be original).
Does convertible mean it can be converted to use a cloth fill bag or inner bags?

This is my favorite Convertible
There is a story behind it. After my Nona passed away, I was the oldest in the family, so responsibility fell on me to take care of a lot of things. Vacuuming was one of my many jobs. There used to be a vacuum store across the street from the bank my dad used to work at, and I used to drive the owner absolutely nuts. One day we our Monkey Wards badged Eureka canister bit the dust, and I told my dad we needed a new vacuum. To my surprise, my Dad told me to go pick one out from my friend at the vacuum store, and this is the model I bought. It's the Convertible on the right hand side.
