Your Favorite Eureka Power Nozzle, 1973-1990

Hi,

What is your favorite Eureka power nozzle from 1973 to 1998?

Mine is the original Vibra-Groomer I PN sold from 1973 to 1980, for it was this version that the design was also licensed to such door-to-door competitors as Rexair/Rainbow, Compact and Fairfax.

From 1981 to 1990 there was the Vibra-Groomer II PN (the headlight version of the PN was redesigned for 1983). The Eureka Express canister introduced for 1985 had the sleek-looking Vibra-Groomer III PN that its commercial division Sanitaire used on its canister (in which the main unit looked like a 1700 series).

Id have to agree with you,,the Vibra Groomer 1 PN from the 1970s is my favorite too. They really are an excellent Power Nozzle,,as long as the belt is new and tight,the brush bristles are good, the red beater bars are not all nicked up and the hose going from the back of the PN up to the neck is in good condition.
In 1975, A relative bought a new Eureka Iron Sides orange tank, with the suction regulator and Tool Pak on the top, and cord winder. It came with the deluxe PN with the headlight on top of the PN.
I remember that even with a mostly full bag, and the vac set on full suction power, it was hard to push and pull that PN it was all so powerful. I remember that cord winder on that Eureka was strong that you had to be careful when you pulled the cord for re-wind,,it snapped back in with such force it could do some serious damage!
They gave me that vac in the mid 1990s,,and i gave it to a friend that needed a new vac,,darn it,,why didnt i keep it! That really was one of the most powerful vacuums of its type ive ever used.

I wanna say that PN that PN that came with that 1975 Orange Eureka Iornsides was called a Roto-Matic? Seems like it said that on the front of the PN,,there was also a fake wood grain on top too.

Yes, Roto-Matic Power Team is the name.

I don't so much go for the ones used on the World Vac canisters.

Is it possible to retrofit an '80s VGII brushroll into a Rainbow R1024C nozzle?

I think all the Eureka power nozzles made before the Express came out were labelled "Roto-Matic." They just recycled the brandname that they used in the 1950's for their rotating canister vac. As a matter of fact, I was too young to know about the Roto-Matic canister (I was born in 1959), and so I was surprised to learn that Eureka had used the name before - I always thought it referred to their canisters' power nozzles!

Favorite Eureka Power Nozzle

My favorite would be the Eureka Express. There are variations with a cogg belt, but it's called by a different name. Think Vacuums have them.

Yes I agree with Bud - the Eureka Express is designed in such a way as to be really well balanced and it hugs the carpet so well, at the same time as being so easy to push - it seems to be almost self-propelled! Love the sleek look and the front end light.

In general, the Eureka power nozzles from 1973 onward seem to have been really great performers. They are probably the central reason Consumer Reports kept on giving them top scores for deep carpet cleaning - including the World Vac power team of the 1990's.

Thats my favourite Eureka PN too. I love the Power View. The only problem is that I don't have a belt that has markings on it, so I don't get to enjoy it as much : ( I love the sound these PNs make with the VGII.
