as requested, here is the roomba!! Also did a little "trading" with my vacuums. My aunt had bought a Rainbow E2-12 (blue) in 2009 and used it, maybe 3 times. She felt it was "too much work" to empty the water *rolls eyes*, so I traded her one of my Oreck's and a Kirby G5 for the Rainbow, all accesories and her extended power hose she got for it! yay!! :)

Bud, your Eureka 250 is BEAUTIFUL!!! That vacuum looks like you just took it out of the box! What did you have to do to get it in this shape, if anything?

**drooling like crazy**

What I had to do

Hi Rob and thanks for the compliment.

I spent 8 hours sanitizing and detailing the machine. You can see the before picture in my album for PR-21. After the first 2 hours, I truly stopped and wondered if I should continue, but decided to go on. I am glad I did. I used Pine Sol, Qtips, Magic Eraser, Windex and Micro Fiber cloths. The handle still has scratches that the pictures just don't show. I also had the bag that you see on it, that I put back just in case I ever found a Model 250. The bag on it I did salvage, but had to use clorox to do it, so it is faded, but still very usable. I will keep it in case this bag ever wears out, since they are difficult to impossible to find.

The hood had many rust stains that I could not sand out. I found a Model 265 blue with cordwinder and chrome hood. I took the chrome hood off of it and put it on this machine. The hood is mint for its age. The bag on this machine had been shreaded by an animal chewing on it...I think. Not usable at all. This machine still runs, so I have an extra two speed motor for future use.

Anyway that is what I did myself, then I took it to a vac shop and had the new 7 amp two speed sanitaire step down motor and cord put on. I put a new vibra groomer II in it and the photo above is the result. The picture here is the before.

Sincerely,

Bud Mattingly

thanks

I've never seen one with a loop style handle that had the foot switch, so when there was no rocker on the hand grip it threw me for a loop there!

There was also a blue and gray model with a loop handle and a foot peda switch. It was different to use since your not used to simply moving your finger to turn it off on the loop handle!

I had bought one for my mother, and then I got some more with the idea, that I would get them, repair them if anything wrong with them, clean them up and sell them. Thought there would be more interest locally in them, but so far no interest. I thought everyone would love a good high quality vacuum!! Right now I have a total of 1 Kenmore Progressive, 1 Hoover Floormate, 1 IRobot Roomba, 1 Kirby G6, 1 Kirby Ultimate Aka G7, 1 Oreck XL Ultra, 1 Rainbow E2 1 Speed System, 3 Rainbow E2-12 2 Speed *gold color* Systems, and 4 Rainbow E2-12 2 Speed *Blue color* Systems. For our own home I think we are going to keep the Rainbow we recently bought from the door to door salesman, and the Rainbow that I got from my Grandmother. I live having a Rainbow running on low at all times in the living room, and in our bed room. :)

Hey Aaron

You leave yours on low 24/7?

I have never done that. How often do you have to change the water when it's on low like that?

Hey Mark, I change the water every morning when I get up, or before I go to bed. I usually fill it just a little above the post in the middle, just bearly over the top of it. by the morning, it is usually just a little below the middle post. I like sitting one of my night stand, and turn the exhaust to blow on me, it puts out such a nice cool breeze.
