I found a website - etsy.com that sells vintage items and I found this Electrolux table. Not sure if the vacuums work and are just shells without the motor, but where would you put something like this in your home? lol

Hi Lovelux:

In all our conversations I've neglected to welcome you to Vacuumland, so I'm doing that here and now.

Yes I've seen this coffee table before before, and can't help thinking "what if it tips over?" I shudder to think what would happen if a cup of coffee or a soda was resting on the glass! While your Electrolux doesn't have one, the cord winder let's you stand it on end, but it's not conducive for holding things.

You are new here, but trust me, there are all sorts of things our members create from the shell of a vacuum cleaner. And we used to have a member, still may, though I havent seen him in years, who makes robotic art from tank vacuums.

Interesting.

The Electrolux standing steady is not outfitted with a cord winder, that's what's called a 'halo,' a device used to wind the cord by hand. The other one is tipping to one side, and certainly not able to hold anything.

Both of these are later versions of the LX, about 1953 after Electrolux did away with the red lettering on a yellow background, and added the dial to control the ejection process.

Still as vacuum cleaner art, I really like the tables.

"What if it tips over?"

Plug in your table and pick up after it!

I'd rather have a proper vintage table, with a proper LX sitting before it on the rug!

Table on a vacuum-how bout getting one of those vacuums that is inside the table?-Memebers sometimes show them here.Would think a glass disc precariously balanced on an upended Lux vac wouldn't go to well with safety folks-esp if kids are around-or if something heavy is put on that Lux vac table.

Would be better to treat the luxs like legs and create a 3,4 or more, legged table.

It's an interesting idea. I can imagine there are people that would go for these type tables.
(Not me, though) I need the real, unaltered item.

I've seen those electroluxes left on the curb for big junk pick up, on a rainy day.

You come back the next day and it's already started to rust on the edges. They weren't designed to get wet.

Yes they could be sprayed with a sealer, but there are several voids where water could get in and get the mail wet.
