Tom.

I have great respect for Mike Pupek, please don't refer to him in the female gender! Lets all be professional here, you used to do that to me too, and I found it quite offensive. I haven't seen Mike in many years, and don't know where he is but I do know that sort of thing bothered him greatly.

Insulting remarks have no place here, and that comment puts our friendship in jeopardy.

eBay buyers like Pupek are one of the reasons I can't stand eBay as a means of buying old vacuums. It needlessly drives up the prices for everyone else once he buys one for some sickening quantity of cash and none of us normal people stand a chance at getting anything he sets his eye on. I've seen him buy several Lewyt Electronics on there, I mean how many does one person need? Let someone else have one and stop hoarding them!

Buyers and sellers have eBay user names, but lets face it, if you exchange e-mails haggling over prices on eBay items it is tough to remain completely anonymous. How many e-mail address either have your name in it (one of mine does), the name of your business (same again) or some other name that is intimately tied to your identity?

Bill, Bill edstrom has made it well known he keeps track of VL and other collectors, thier monikers on ebay and tracks what they buy. high desired items thru typical vacuum collector bid snipers (or un necessarily bid up items) are usually disclosed upon request....

"how many does one person need"

Without getting in too many directions here I would note that in some cases an older mechanical item will need various spare parts that are not easily found. Some of the collector car magazines I read will show a restored car that had parts from other similar cars with no complaints for the owner or restoration.I imagine some older, rare machines on AW require parts donors.
Are some of these items hoarded or rescued??
I think I have seen here in the last 2 weeks mention of wanted vacs found for less,or much less, than $15 on EBay.Did anyone think that was too low!?

Alex: I actually don't find it insulting at all. Clay Floyd was the first person to call you "Miss Tabor", but it wasn't designed to be insulting. Insulting would be "Miss Tabor is a mess", which no one ever said. It's actually considered by some to be a sign of affection and respect within a certain circle of friends. I refer to you as Alex, not "Miss Tabor". If you want to call me "Roxie", you can - I just won't go into the backstory (there certainly is one). It won't bother me at all.

My very good friend and former VCCC board member, Clay Floyd, recounted to me the story of Colorado bar owner, Don Young. While he never liked it, most of his customers called him "Loretta". He took it as a sign of affection.

It's not too difficult to find out who bought something on eBay. Once feedback on an item has been left, one can simply click on the user name of the person leaving feedback. "PowerMike" is Mike Pupek.

Tom.

It's TABER! not Tabor, get it right! and stop talking about me in the female gender. I ended my friendship with Clay for that very reason, and right now your skating on thin ice!

We've had problems in the past that I'm trying to overlook, but your bucking for a fight, again! I won't go there as don't play head games, so cool it!

Alex I have no desire to get involved in this but your posts are starting to get marked as offensive by other members because this should not be aired publicly. This is the kind of thing that should be taken off line via private email.

Please no more of this now, thank you and I appreciate you understanding.
