A foot switch on a convertible? Do you think they were just using up discontinued parts? I had thought the metal Guardsman was the last of those, but then again, I am not a Hoover expert....

Looks like a pair of U5133-940s in the top photo. Mine is burgundy colored like one of the two depicted. Where do they fit into the Hoover universe in terms of quality, cleaning ability and desirability?

Does the Heavy Duty Convertible have plastic-wrap on the hood, or is it just extremely shiny? Those Elites must be from the early-mid 1990s. I had no idea they kept the vault stocked with new models for so long! I hope everything is going well up there on the east coast. I must visit sometime.

Those Elites are great!

My aunt has the soft bag version. If you like Elites....they're right up there. These vacs, I thinnk, MAY have been turned on ONCE. They'll be played with in October at the "Monster Mash Bash III" There is NO plastic on that black Heavy Duty... it IS that shiny!!!!!!
