oldest vacuum?

There would be older nonelectrics,but for an electric vacuum this is close to the beginnings.This article,seen here twice,is good for average newspaper reader but for collectors would any collectors in England be in a convenient location to visit in person and show more such as motor,attachments,bag compartment,etc?
 
Hmm....he looks remarkably young for 53, but that could be jealously on my part. I can't believe he's been allowed to bring that relic into the house though. My own wife would have had a turn.
 
Hmm, well the BVC in the museum is very interesting! As is the Sturtevant in the newspaper article....certainly a very simple design.

I recall a couple of years ago seeing on the Internet that Regina made a wooden canister vacuum with a GE motor, & that was dated around 1905-1906.
