Woolworths (I believe) Handheld Vacuum Cleaner Information Wanted!

Title says it all.

I bought this (pictures will be included) for £1.50 at a recycling store last year and the reason I think it is a Woolworths Vacuum Cleaner is because the charger says Woolworths on it, however the actual cleaner has no labels. I don't even know the wattage of the motor.

And here is the bit where I go on about how crap it is. Well, actually, it isn't!

OK, it isn't brilliant, but it does do its job rather well!

As you can see from the pictures, it is charging just now, and it takes about 12 hours to fully charge.

Once it is charged it works for about 15-20 minutes before the motor starts to die and it looses suction.

From what I can see, it is a kind of cyclone system.

It's not a cyclone system, but can be used to pick up small wet spills!

Ah, I see!

My mother uses it regularly (she is using it as I type this actually) to keep the hard flooring in the kitchen clean, and also to clean the door mat at the back door.

Just today I picked up a carpet sweeper for £2.50, which will replace the handheld's duties except for doing crevices and certain things that require suction rather than just a spinning brush roll.

I'll create a separate thread later on about the sweeper though.

That is DEFINATELY a Woolworths vac, it has no labels because it was probably made for other shops as well as Woolies. Can you tell me some more about this recycling centre please?

Its pretty similar to a lot of Chinese made products, JM. The best wet n dry I ever had was a Proaction model at Argos that is no longer on sale. The filter was very different - but as shown in your pics this isn't cyclonic - its just the old fashioned dust buster dust catching principle that all budget dust busters have - and to a degree, the Hitachi bag-less cylinder vacs that sold throughout the 1990's at Argos. Infact Argos still have a similar bagless Proaction/Argos Value cylinder vac on sale that has a similar cloth filter.
