Hmm...it didn't REALLY do that well though, did it?
Don't get me wrong, I love the T2, 3 and 1000's, but this took several passes over what some machines would pick up in one go. But I agree with your bagless comment - I'd had to try and clean out a cyclone with all those wood shavings and guinea pig poop in it.

It would have done much better if I had remembered to put the height selector back into low rather than keeping it on the shag pile that it was on when it was last in use, haha.

I do love my Turbopower though.

I paid nothing for it, and haven't had to spend a penny on repairs because there have been none!

In the almost two years (will be two years in Februrary 2012) I've owned it, all I've done is replace the belt once, and put a few new bags in.

So I'd say I've spend £5 to keep it running for almost two years... Wow!

Though my Electrolux beats that! I got it free and it came with a spare belt and pack of bags, which I haven't even had to open yet.

I love freebies.

Nice finds! My N.I.B Goblin Laser from 1995 was my best freebie. Although I wouldn't want to use that as my daily vacuum. My current daily cost me £175. The fact that you can use this as your main cleaner makes it even more of an excellent find.

I don't actually have a "main cleaner" really...

If I had to I would choose the Turbopower hands down, but I like to give all my cleaners a turn of cleaning the house.

Example:

Monday - HOOVER Turbopower
Tuesday - Philips U800
Wednesday - Electroux 502S
Thursday - Hoover Ranger
Friday - Numatic Henry
Saturday - JMB SC1056
Sunday - Panasonic MC-E8011

I actually have a cleaner for each day of the week! Ha ha.

I tend to use these 2 as my daily drivers. The Sebo X1.1 is, IMO, the best upright on the market today. It's a really work horse and does a brilliant job. I usually use this everywhere. The Electrolux 616 (from 1989) is one of my all time favourites and such a nice vacuum to use. I tend to use that upstairs when I'm having a quick whip round. I also use Henry upstairs a fair bit when I'm doing a big clean up and stripping the beds - he's a lot easier to vacuum down the mattresses with.

Although I like to use one cleaner every day, I'll admit I have two favourites that I tend to use, but don't tell my other cleaners that, they may get upset...

My two favourite cleaners, and the ones I tend to use more, is my 1994 Turbopower and 1982 Electrolux 502S.

I love my other ones dearly, but not as much as my "babies"

I know a lot of people on here like to use their older collected vacuums as daily drivers, but I like having 1 or 2 modern cleaners that I can run into the ground and not worry about them. Having said that, I can't see I'm likely to ware out a Sebo or a Henry as they're probably the 2 most reliable vacuums on the market lol

I can't speak for Sebo, but I'm 99.9% certain my Henry will outlive me. I'm being deadly (pardon the pun) serious! They are very durable and hope I can pass him down to my kids some day and keep him in the family for generations!

I love running my older cleaners regularly, as if I left them for long periods of time just sitting there I'd be afraid something would seize up. At least with regular use there is no chance of that!
