Wow. That is a very nice looking canister! Very well designed. Wouldn't mind having one.

Don't recall much on Wizard. I seem remember someone talking about them but don't recall their history.
 
Looks like a cross between two that I have, a Kingston and an all chrome Apex. They both have great suction as well, better than the Electrolux of the time IMHO. I also remember seeing one called a Coronado I believe, maybe in a mauve/taupe tone that was built about the same way.
 
Looks like it would be sheer HELL dragging and wrestling with that beast all over, up and down stairs, ect, in a big house, back in the day.

Thats what the maid was for evidently? lol
 
At some point, "Wizard" was the private label name for a chain of stores called Western Auto. Eureka made many of the Wizard vacs for the retailer in the 1960's. Not sure if this vintage cylinder is connected to Eureka or Western Auto. Seems too old for that corporate connection... :-)
