My Dyson DC 14 that I got used about a year and a half ago has always clicked a little when I used it. But, just yesterday, I noticed that the brushroll sounds different on the back stroke than on the forward stroke. That usually means it's time to change the belt. The clicking has gotten worse too. Well, I have always been intimidated to change the clutch assembly knowing what a difficult process it was. I found this video on youtube and it explained everything so I hopped on eBay and bought a clutch assembly.

I got one that had free shipping and included the belt lifter tool for just 40 bucks! Pretty good since used DC 14s in my area are still going for 2 to 3 hundred dollars.

I'm not mechanically inclined, so please wish me luck when I try this!

I will post a link to the video just in case it helps someone else with a DC 07 or DC 14 who may be having similar issues.

What's funny is that I actually bought the belt from the same person that made the video and I didn't realize it until afterward when I recognized the same screen name on youtube and ebay!

I've done that repair...

A few times, It's not so bad.. The hardest parts are getting the little brushroll on/off knob off and getting the agitator into the new belt.
