Wireless Vacuette Impellor

Looking for a replacement Impellor for my Wireless Vacuette. The machine is nearing completion in restoration and all it needs is the impellor. The original one has 4 chipped and broken fins. Thanks!

How messed up is the original? I doubt you would find a replacement easily.

Actually, I'm not sure you could tell the difference in terms of performance and it probably runs too slow to become a vibration or noise problem. The disk behind the blades is quite heavy in order to make a flywheel effect, which might also dampen vibration.

You can always try to find a vacuum that used a similar sized fan with the same shaft size, but it would probably be too light weight to work properly.

The original is insanely messed up. Three of the fins are nearly perfect but the other four are in the shape of triangles. For the time being I'm using a Hoover model 28 impellor. It works half-decent, but it's just a little too light to keep consistant suction.

I thought about taking the original and having a mold made of it to make a new casting but I don't know if it's possible to copy the good blade pattern over the bad blade pattern.

Thanks for your input though. I guess I'll be on the look out for a junk one. happy 4th!!

I've given it some more thought, and I think you might be able to find someone who can weld aluminum to repair the original. They should be able to clean up the damaged blades and build them back up one layer at a time. After that you just need to grind or file them to the correct shape.

You would need a sand mold to make a new fan for it. And a machine shop to accurately drill the center hole and check the new fan for balance. One place to look would be to contact Kirby. They may have some good fans for it. Let them know you are doing a refurbish. You never know what someone might find on a dusty shelf some where. Good luck in your search. I too would like to find a wireless vacuette for my collection.
