Ok so I should know the answer to this but why is it a big no no to store the Rainbow with water pan attached? I mean I know why not to when it's sill wet but why not when it's dry? It's hard for me to do that when I have so many in my collection. If I store then apart they take up twice as much shelf space so I keep them together. When I use one I keep apart for a few days to make sure it's dry.

Because if you store the pan on the machine, under pressure from the clamps, it will eventually smash the gasket on the underside of the machine. The compression will eventually mean the gasket(s) - there are two of them on models before the D4 - will be ineffective. That's a huge problem for collectors of models A, B, and C that have been stored for decades on their pan - an ineffective seal means low suction.
