I've been an avid collector of Electrolux machines since the start, my very first was a 1949 model XXX. Didn't ever run quite right, even after servicing the motor the suction left something to be desired. I chalked it up to the motor mounts having gone bad, and the motor was no longer sealing against the bag chamber. Regardless, I enjoyed it thoroughly, and it sparked a love of the brand.
As of right now, I have a 1940 XXX, an LX with a bad attitude and an aggressive cord reel, a lovely Automatic F (featured in the photo), an E, and a Canadian Z88. I've switched them all over to HEPA bags, and they couldn't be happier. Sooner or later I'm going to invest in a Wessel battery powered head, I've been eyeballing a 280. The straight suction rug nozzle works awesome, but they could all benefit from an extra boost.
I've often wondered how they made their machines so quiet, I know that the motors were built exceptionally well back in the day and with a little love they stand the test of time, and then some. I really feel like Electrolux built some of the best vacuums that are still out there
