Why does Hoover hide the new Connie?

Just what is it about this new Constellation? The is NO information about it on the Hoover website-like it does not even exist. I have been to every Hoover retailer on this rock and NO ONE has it. Not Smears, not bLowes, not Kame-A-part, not Home Despot, or even Hel-mart. I can find that horrid Hoover Z (makes a Kirby feel like an Electrikbroom by comparison) and that wickedly cheep Duros canister. Does anyone know why Hoover is so reluctant to trumpet one of the coolest new vacuums in years?

I wished I knew. I haven't even seen one live yet anywhere. Only the Home Hardware Christmas catalogue here shows it so I went to one of their larger stores but they didn't have one, had to order it if you wanted one. I think it's $279 Cdn in their catalogue which would be about $239 USD.. is that what it sells for in the US roughly, not on sale or anything?

My guess

Well my uneducated guess since i'm not in the business. I have a feeling that Hoover was going to give the new Constellation a grand debut but when they heard the they were going to be sold they put the kabash on the debut. Instead, Hoover decided to quietly ease the Connie out there. My hope is that the new company that bought Hoover will promote the new Connie along with a new Convertible maybe?

I had "heard" that Hoover was testing the Connie to see how well it would be received. I am not sure how long this testing period will last, but them being sold probably put a wrench into it. As for the website...I remember wanting a Telios and seeing it on the website well after I got mine. Our Hoover Center here in North Canton has them both models and they are proudly displayed. Sabrina, the clerk, told me that they sold well. She herself bought one and hated it because it floated too well and the cord kept catching her cat's attention as it wiggled back and forth. The cat kept trying to bite the cord. So she quit using it. I have one and I think it is very well made and something that should do well for the company. Keep us posted whether or not you can get one!

Usually....

There is an initial period in which we are unable to sell the cleaner to dealers, etc... We are simply to get "consumer input." But, that's long been over for the Constellation. I really don't know why they haven't put it in a big box retailer, as it's just such a neat, well made product.

I think that Target would do well selling them... Actually in their stores. There are prettymuch NO canister cleaners in Target, whatsoever--well, most places.

I'll try to find out why there isn't any info on the Constellation on Hoover's website.

Hoover did...

Create this video.. so, they do have to have some interest in promoting the product.

I've also heard that it's been on HSN--however it's no longer on the HSN website... go figure.

Constellation Availability

For months now, Tom has had one on his sales floor. I know that he has sold quite a few of them, and everyone who has bought one has been very happy with them. I also know that Tom was able to get them, when Andy, four hours away in Springfield was not able to get them. Go figure..

New Constellation

Go to an authorized Hoover dealer. While Hoover doesn't own these places any more that is where I got mine in September,
'06.

Hey Derreck

Andy was trying to get them during that initial "test period" I was talking about above.
I should have clarified... the Hoover Stores are not allowed to sell them to dealers during that "test period," if that's where Andy was trying to order them from (I think it was). That's why he was unable to get them. He's more than welcome to get them now... I'd invite him to order some, even through my store if he'd like.

However, he would have all along been able to order them through Essco or Steel City (where Tom has been gettig them from), if he would have wished.

Hope that makes sense.

Hose difference?

The video said that the stainless model has a longer hose. Anybody know if it is longer than the white one? All the specs that I have read say they are all 12 feet.

Fred that video is fantastic. Thanks so much for sharing it. That could really sell the machine if they would just get it out to the public more.

Yep.

The hose on the S3345 will stretch 4' longer than the hose on the S3341.

That coupled with the more expensive stainless steel finish is what makes it more deluxe.

Thanks

Thanks for the info Fred. Now I have a good reason to save up for the stainless model.
BTW Hoover would sell tons of these if people knew about them. I haven't seen one ad that I didn't search for.

Hey does anyone know......

what happened to the video clip of the Constellation? Does anyone know where there is another one? Tim
