Why are Aerus/Lux Type C Bags So Abudant and Cheap Compared to Other Vacuum Bags?

12 bags for fifteen bucks. I can get twenty from my parts guy for that price, but I buy them often since I fill them fairly quick. Lots of dust at my place

HEPA exhaust filters will fit the Classic & Legacy; but I dont know if the cover will fit correctly over the HEPA exhaust filter

Is there a HEPA pre-motor filter for the Classic or Legacy?

Here's a surprise (shock?) from a Hoover guy......

Yes, the door pops open and the the bag comes out when it is 'time to change the bag'. Yes, I KNOW this!! lol I have friends who love Electrolux. I have a friend in Philly who was very ill after surgery a few years back. I offered to clean his house for him. All he had was a gold electrolux with a powernozzle. Yep, I cleaned that whole home with it. The minute it was turned on, thatbag popped out. I thought that was clever , a cute feature, if you will. So, he changed his bag, colostomy, and I changed the vacuum bag. THe vinyl braided hose was worn to bits. He FINALLY had that thing serviced.

As far as bags go, I ALWAYS use GENUINE filter bags.

Every pack I see at estate sales and thrift stores, yes the Perfect bags are better, but I change them so often ...and I find so many genuine Elux as well as Multi Filter bojacks, I just use them, I bet I have 20 or 30 packs, some from the 70s brand new.

The older bags seem to hold suction longer than generics, but hepa go longer

Then think about how many "C" bag using Luxes are still in use-pretty good for a design that is close to half century old!--So there is still a market for these!

John Long, you actually touched & used a Electrolux vacuum? What happened to you not using vacuums that were "other species" other than Hoover?

Quick, get me the smelling salts! I think I'm going to faint thinking John used a Electrolux without rubber gloves

I'd venture a guess they're cheap because they've been used in every single canister vac that Electrolux produced since the 1950's, and thus the companies that produce the bags haven't had to re-tool with each generation. Any patents on the design of the bag have long since expired as well.

I manage an Aerus franchise in Canada. I can assure you that our bags are made in the U.S.A. It even says that on the box. The inner shield is rubbery, not plain paper, which is why our genuine bags hold in so much more dust than the after market paper bags. I also do most of the repairs here, and I can sure tell when folks have used non-genuine bags. The motors just don't last as long because of that, in my experiences at least.

As far as the "Perfect" bags, I haven't seen one up close yet, but I'd be surprised if they fit properly. I have a customer who has a Perfect vacuum who needed bags and ours just wouldn't fit properly. Our cardboard collar was a tiny bit too small for her canister. Do you guys have to cut that Perfect collar at all to get it to fit the older Electrolux/newer Aerus machines right?

Wouldn't the 'Lux "C" bag qualify as one of those oldest disposable bag designs currently used?Since so many machines were sold that use them-and these vacuums were so durable and repairable-explains why the "C" bag is still with us today-something like half century old!
