Yours, and your neighbor's gardens, are beautiful. I miss the varied gardens of cooler climates. Here in the Southwest, it is "Incinerator ON" or "Incinerator OFF". I really can't complain, though....we had a BEAUTIFUL Fall, Winter and Spring, so I will live with this hot, humid, sticky, nastiness that descends on us between July and the end of September until things cool off. Next year I am getting air conditioning, which will make life MUCH more bearable during this season. At its worst, it was 113 last week. You simply do your strenuous stuff early in the morning (weed-pulling, floor washing, VACUUMING, etc.) and then act like a shrub during the remainder of the day.

When I visited John in Pittston, it was SO green everywhere, as was Milwaukee. Both Duane and Tania had beautiful green grounds. One treat I had while visiting John was seeing the very first June Bugs I had EVER seen, alight on Aunt Lizzie's lawn. That was great fun.
