which is better the hoover purepower or Panasonic

both of these vacs have been going for along time and now classed as budget vacs

but both have become cheap and flimsy

the Panasonic has beaters on the brush role the hoover does not just long soft bristle's

see pic's

I agree with Chris. All the Panasonic's built in that style have been well built, unlike the Purepower's which have had known design faults since the introduction in 1997, and I have used the machines in question so I am talking of experience.

Panasonic uprights are not as flimsy as the Hoover Purepower uprights in my experience and they're not as heavy to push and pull on carpet. The trade off with Hoover are the cleaning tools and sometimes, if included the longer hose when required. Panasonic's uprights might be a tad noisy but I find they do the job without much fuss. They also have longer lasting dust bags to the Purepower but of personal preference the Panasonic you have given as a photo example uses 2 drive belts.

Current new Eco models now only have a single drive belt. The MCUG522 I bought only a few years ago and now belongs to my aunt has a single drive belt but Panasonic seems to have stopped selling it. It also has a wonderful wooden brush roll. It may well reappear again with a lower motor in the year even though it was low enough at 1200 watts. This model has a smaller bag capacity than the older, classic Panasonics.

Panasonic got beaters? Wow , Panasonic for performance then. But I believe the purepower has very strong suction at 290 AW. But beaters get more of the deep down grit out. We had a purepower and it was the dark green variable powered one with glitter in the plastic. It was weirdly built. The foot pedal wanted to get kicked on or stood on but it never worked. So I had to kick the head down, and it never broke :/ stiff at first but then got looser
