I decided I need a new G series brush roll for my G3, and I was wondering which is best for deep cleaning in general: the Pet or Sentria Brushroll? And, yes, I know that if I go with the Sentria brushroll in my G3 the magnet won't line up; I don't really care about this since I go by sound more than anything else to adjust the nozzle height.

So, which is better?

Well, the Sentria brush roller is amazing. I put one in my GSix and it improved the performance rather a lot. However, I don't know if it will fit in the G3/G4. I emailed another member of the forum weeks ago on just that question but have yet to hear back. I'm afraid I may have offended him at some point but don't know. So, I think I must address that question to anyone.
Will the new style brush roller fit in the G3/G4?
If it does, than it is worth getting. It will improve your G3's performance.

My local Kirby store says that it will fit, but if you want the LED to work, you have to switch the end caps.

yes The sentria brushroll will it fit on G3/G4. Only thing won't work the magent because its on right side. Other option if you extra nozzle from G5 and up will work on G3/G4.

broomvac and rainbowjoel- Thanks for answering so fast. I am really glad that I can put the Sentria brush roller into a G3 or G4. I'll be able to upgrade mom's G3 so it works as well as my GSix. She'll be happy and I will be able to do the same thing when I get a G4 to add to 'the fleet'.
Thanks a ton.

What makes you say that? It's not like the older style that shovels all of the debris down the middle. From looking at the brushes, it seems it pushes all the stuff to one side of the nozzle or the other, so flipping it around shouldn't make a difference.

I probably won't change the endcaps anyways, since I never use the LED and I don't want to run the risk of ruining the bearing seals on a brand new brushroll.

Yes, the pet brush roll does work very well. The bristles are spaced wider apart to prevent pet hair from getting wrapped around the roll. I have one and it performs very well. The tufts of bristles are also staggered so that the tuft on the second row is behind the gap on the first row in order to keep the bristles in constant contact with the rug. They're stiff too in order to set up better positive agitation. I recommend it.

Ok. I still can't decide. lol. People seem to like both very much, but has anyone ever had both at the same time and compared their deep cleaning against one another?

The pet bristles are made of anti microbial material so anything the pets bring in won't live on the brushroll
