Hello all. New to the forums. I recently just picked up 6 Electolux's. Pictures will follow when all cleaned up. Which has the best motors and strongest suction. I have (1)Super J, (1)Golden J, (2)Silverado Deluxes, (1)Painted 1401 and a Model L. Also i have PN2, PN4, PN4A, and a PN6. Any help will be appreciated. I will send pics of all of this that i paid 100.00. this weekend.

Thank John

What about the rest up to the Grand Marquise. I have a line on an Olympia, and a DJ. Im going to use my Silverado Deluxe as my DD.

Hi John, welcome, and what a great find! Here goes, from least to most powerful: model L, Golden J, Super J/1401 (Olympia One), and finally, Silverado. I read here yesterday that later Silverados have a redesigned, shorter (read: cheaper) motor than the earlier ones. I don't know how they perform in comparison, and I've never heard one run.

There's an excellent post on this forum from 2014 that will tell you more than you probably ever want to know about Electrolux models and motors (see link below):

It sure did for me. As for your power nozzles, I believe all of the ones you listed have the same motor, but I read in this forum that the later, L-shaped ones perform better. I have a PN-4 and just took possession of a PN-5, so I look forward to vacuuming with both and seeing if I reach the same conclusion.

Hope this helps, and enjoy the forums!

Best,

Joel

Yeah, that's quite the haul. I would definitely have taken that deal. To get the most out of any of them, make sure you've got a good vinyl hose with no holes. The woven hoses look nice and all but they all deteriorate from the inside and leak over time. Have fun trying the different machines with different power nozzles and let us know your favorite combo.

The girls all cleaned up and ready. All working perfectly with minor repairs and cleaning. 5 of 6 original hoses seem to have no leaks as I can tell by suction at the end. 1 hose has rubber coming out everytime you move it. Came with a handful of hand tools and a sidekick. I am going to use the Silverado as my dd.
