I have a Model E Electrolux and the plug end is bad. I tried to find a replacement at the hardware store but could only find a white one that looked like it might fit.

Any ideas where I can get one?

Thanks
Pat

Some Ace Hardware stores have

"old timey" looking plugs that clip together instead of little screws, or the thing being too big for the cord. Of course it's not going to look original, but it is better than a big 'ole new looking white plug on a black wire.

Electrolux Cord

I have been using a Kirby Classic cord with my Model L and it works great. The Kirby cord is really long but it can be a pain when winding it back on the cord halo. The Kirby female plug is just the right size. Some older extension cords may work as long the plug is narrow.

Unfortunately,

The Lux "E" has no male plug connector as does the AE, R, L etc. It went straight into the machine through a cord retaining clip. I'll bet that Kirby cord is quite handy on your "L", Kenny. Cleans the whole house without changing the plug. Good Idea!

Ace Hardware is where I found the white plug end. They had a bin for the black plug end, but stopped selling them! Maybe I need to find an old Ace Hardware store in some small town, they might still have some. I'd really like to keep the original cord if possible, but will keep in mind the Kirby cord if I have to replace it. IF I can find one, I have an old Kirby now that needs a new cord and I can't find one for it.

Thanks,
Pat
