When’s the last time y’all have seen one of these?

My old bosses at the furniture store gave this to me a couple months ago. It is presently in pieces waiting for its trip through my Kitchenaid KDS-18 that I use as a parts washer. This vacuum and I had history as it was used in the store until I brought them a Kirby G3 to use in the store. The Tempo lived in the closet in the warehouse from 2013 until December 2020 where it came home with me. I want to put it back to its former glory because while I didn’t care for the vacuum very much it was probably the most interesting part of working in that furniture store other than receiving my Hoover 61 and my Kitchenaid KDS-18 from them. I figured I’d share this tired Hoover Tempo Bagless Vacuum with y’all.

And it's bagless.... so ....special.
I used a bagged version once to help a friend. It had that nice wide front but it was spewing dirt considerably. I opened the bag compartment and the bag had come off the tube and the bags have no rubber gasket, thus there's no positive seal. The inside of the bag compartment was filthy.

Is it just the angle or does this have a larger diameter hose compared to most vacs in this genre?

I believe it’s the angle. The hose is the same diameter as the bagged Tempo. These old Bagless systems intrigue me since they tried so many odd designs. I can honestly say this one was weird and honestly doesn’t work very good. It has a foam seal going from the dust cup, but it doesn’t seem effective. It also has great suction when the filter is new, but clogs off very easily.
