Hi!
I have inherited a Hoover 427. Workibg fine but the little wheel on the bottom is missing. I will try and find a wheel from a furnature caster.
Any one know the diameter of the missing wheel?

Got an idea

Hi Axell, Hoover.com has some replacement wheels in stock, but they don't mention its specs.
If you want to measure diameter, put popsicle sticks on the top and bottom of the round part. Make sure the sticks are parallel, then measure the gap between the sticks. You may need to replace both wheels if you can't find one to match. Frank

This wheel may fit a bunch of very old hoovers

I usually order odds and ends parts (lawnmower and appliance) through www.repairclinic.com. They have a sort of scale picture of that wheel - showing it to be about 1-3/4 inches in diameter. I wonder what the width is. Coffee can hoovers have 1-3/8" diameter x 1/2" wide and 3/8" hole.

Ok. I will try and contct those two companies, but I,m not expecting much. It is after all a 41 year old model.
