I'm a weird collector, I am not much of a fan of uprights, with the exception of the Electrolux ones. But my favourite Eureka is all of their Power Team canisters. I want to find one thats really loaded, like with all the features. I have a 1746B that I love. Great machine with lots of power, and noise...

Mine is the 1400 series, White with blue trim and the blue trim arond the headlight lense. I can't fint a pic of one but my babysitter had one and I loved it. Now I have the similar 1486 in green, but Id love to find the blue one from 1985 lol.
I love the power team canisters as well.

My vote is also for the 1935 Model M. It's a stunningly beautiful machine from one of the two eras I appreciate the most -- 1930s Streamline Moderne and 1950s Populuxe.

It's refreshing too, to see someone identify design eras correctly, I hate seeing someone identify say, a 1960 GE canister as Art Deco. I love the design eras from approximately 1950 through the middle 1970s.

Too many to choose from, but if I had to choose:

My favourite Eurekas come from the exact same era - the mid 1980's. They are the Eureka Ultra Upright, and the Eureka Express canister. Great performers, beautiful sleek designs, lightweight and top-ranked by Consumer Reports at the time.

My second level of favourites are from the late 1970's: The Eureka Vactronic Quiet Kleen canister with covered on-board Tool-Pak (shown in the post above), and the Brandywine Rugulator Vibragroomer Cordaway Upright.

Hey James -

Yes, I own a Model M.

Mine is a slight variation of the original - it has what was once a reddish bag and a sort of "hospital" cross design belt cover. There were MANY variations of the M over the years.

OpelGTKarl mentioned his D272, which is another beautiful model. It is the redesigned Model M, post-war. Great machines, very classy.
