What's Wrong with this Convertible?

That seller seems to have notoriously high prices for vintage vacs. Obviously not a collector the seller probably doesn’t even know that the hood is a replacement. If I ever decided decide to sell one of my 69s (which is in better shape) I would never ask eighty five dollars for it. It’s not worth it.

Let that vac go. $85 plus shipping is not worth it for that vac. That description is the same description that seller writes for all his convertibles.

Thanks for pointing that out John! I didn’t even the notice the bag. I can see where they would replace the diving board bag holder with a spring. I’m sure most of you already know that it was a weak point in Convertibles that had the diving board handle. The cord looks like it is a replacement as well.

I know this is a discussion about model 69's but if anyones interested I have a model 31 that's all original that I could let go of.

The hood...

is a recall replacement hood, is it not? Didn't Kirbydan post a pic of a hood like that on one of his family's Convertibles saying it was replaced by Hoover because the originals would deform somehow?

Some of the earlier Convertible hoods were known to melt and deform from the heat generated by the motor!

FYI Kenny excuse me ?

How dare you disgrace my dead grandmother by stating a lie this is her vacuum I have had since she passed away . Here is a picture I took years ago , 2008 to be exact by my swimming pool .

You should be ashamed of your self that is a very nasty thing to do . The bottom line is I OWN my late grandmothers vacuums and do not appreciate the nasty lies please stop the childish nonsense .
I owe you or no one an explanation about any of the MANY mint and brand new vacuums I OWN thank you .

Dan

it had its hood replaced because of melting hers never
melted her Hoover guy just replaced it under warranty .
We care for our things as you can tell in this picture not
one scratch or scuff mint like new .

Complete Garbage

A select few on this site that try to ruin things for other people this is supposed to be a fun site to share our love for vacuums not a site to express jealous vicious anger. Nothing like a few jealous nasty people to try to ruin this wonderful site that Robert and Fred have worked so hard to develop . By you acting so petty you are just showing them you do not appreciate their hard work and this awesome site . It is MY mint and NIB vacuums that I OWN and paid for you can only wish you had what I have in my collection keep watching out for my posts ;) and if they turn to dust that's MY business and problem at least I proudly got to enjoy them in my lifetime YOU get over your disgusting nasty self Will .
