Well one more at least.

I did a round trip of 500 miles in one day to pick this up - this is the most expensive vintage cleaner (£175 + petrol) i have purchased although I consider well worth it. And it was good to meet the seller from whom I have bought several more cleaners (including the SA Hoover 4006), all of whom have been in good condition.

The story was that it was purchased by someone in the army who bought it while serving at BFBO in Germany. When posted back in the UK his wife would not use it as the "electricity was wrong" - complete nonsense of course its just a different format of plug. But into the attic it went, not to be used for 40 years or so.Still their loss was my gain. It came with its original hose which is dark brown, rather like that of the Portable

Looking at that last picture

You would think it did not have the standard switch plate, but it did, its just a very good colour match.

This is one of 5 DAM's which I have, the latest of which I only got a couple of weeks ago, but thats for another thread. The picture is of the others

Though I don't own one, nor have I ever seen one in real life, I must say that the most beautiful vac I have ever seen in pictures or in videos is the latest model of the German Kobold Vorwerk cleaning system. Every part looks so smooth and "sexy" and well-designed!

Mine would be...

The Electrolux Commemorative Edition. Bud, I saw your commemorative edition posted here and loved it. As luck would have it, I found one on eBay the other day that was presented to Gary Griffin and was able to purchase it! I should arrive soon and will be the show-piece of my collection!

Only a thousand were made

I saw that on Ebay. There were made as rewards for the sales people. I am really glad you got one, I sure enjoy mine. It was the last all metal made.

Sincerely,

Bud

Awesome!

Durango, your Eureka is one of the best canisters they ever put out. If you ever want to part with that, let me know!!

Bud, where did you get that awsome commermortive addition. I would give my left (well never mind) to own one.

Royal Blue

Davin that is a really nice looking Royal canister. I would be proud to have that out on display. Is the motor about as strong as the newer power tanks that came in blue and maroon?

Davin

That Ultralux is certainly a beauty! I've been scouring around for a decent one that the seller isn't wanting an arm and a leg for, I think that the metal Ultralux vacs are really good looking machines. Nice post!

I love that Kirby

That Tradition is beautiful! I have a Heritage II that I'm fixing up myself and I can only hope mine turns out a fraction as nice as this one! What polish are you using on it?

On a different note, Bud I was in your neck of the woods today...we visited some family in Middletown, OH today!
