What's the deal with this Hoover?

What is this Hoover listed on fleabay, other than the motor being turned wrong? Why is it going so high while it's missing lots of parts? Is it not just a 103 rebuild?

It's just kinda weird. There's a 103 on there right now that's complete. I just wondered what made this one special?

Seems like too much money for that to me. I could see one selling for good money if it had all its original parts. This one is in pretty sad condition. Plus it does look like a factory rebuild.

I just don't quite get it. There's a 103 on there complete for 80 bones. It looks pretty close to the parts unit being sold in the link. There's got to be more to this that I either don't know, or are not seeing...

The only thing I can think is: a few weeks ago someone posted a Hoover Baby with friction drive. Meaning it was not a motor driven brush model. That one was very rare. Perhaps the bidders believe all Hoover Baby models were rare, however, they made them for 15 years, with several different motors. Only the Hooverette "friction drive" model is rare. My two Baby Hoovers (one with a Robins and Meyers motor and one with a Hoover built motor) have weak suction due to the very slow running motors and don't compare at all to the 102 or 105 for airflow or cleaning ability.
