Is there a way to tell a difference between a failing motor bearing and normal commutator noise? I ask because my Kirby Heritage II's motor sounds really good, but I think, like many other old machines, the commutator makes just a little bit of noise on shutdown. Someone was trying to convince me that the bearings are about to fail, and I need to replace them ASAP. I don't think that it's the bearings. So, can you tell the difference between bearing failure and commutator noise? Thanks so much!
