Since the acquisition of Eureka by Midea and Bissell's takeover of Sanitaire it would seem as if Electrolux was left in the dust. I haven't seen anything new offered from Electrolux. Are they still around? Have they been taken over by someone else? Inquiring minds want to know....

It may be total BS,

But I've asked their customer service representatives the same question twice...

First answer was that they'll be releasing a new line this year.

An evacuumstore rep., who somehow seemed to know, told me that they're developing a line of cordless machines.

Second time from Electrolux, they repeated the new line being developed spiel, but with a later release date.  I followed up with asking if it would be a cordless line,  and she said she wasn't able to confirm that.  But I thought I heard a little "smile" in her voice, so who knows!

I love my original vintage Electrolux collection,  and would also love to see them reborn with some kickass products.

They do currently offer beautiful vacuums in the European market seemingly evolved from the Ultra One line.

Personally though

I think Electrolux is done making vacuums for the US market. Probably the same reasons why GE, Whirlpool, Panasonic, Sanyo, and Sharp chose not to sell or make vacuums anymore. Sales declining and are more focused on their other products. It it however possible that a company could license the Electrolux brand on their vacuums if Electrolux chooses to do so, just like how Tacony is able to license vacuums for the Maytag brand and so I'm hoping that Aerus would step in to have their vacuums be called Electrolux once again.

Well i just hope they wake up and keep the Aerus brand going and buy back the name Electrolux and make vacuum like they use to once again id hate to see tristar and electrolux go bye bye not yet plz

The Ultra ones may still be available to get but the production ended not too long ago from what I've gathered. It won't be long before the stock is depleted.

They are still doing central vacs but they're just not dealing with the US market anymore. Importing parts would be hard to do but maybe the Beam brand would still use products that they would get from the same factory that Electrolux would get their's from or maybe the company that they bought Beam from also bought the tooling and molds to manufacture the parts. Right now Beam's website is currently going through maintenance so it's possible that Beam is rebuilding for their new era.

ultra one discontinued

I did not know they had discontinued the Ultra One line, kind of a shame since they are some of the quietest most powerful canisters around. They did sell their beam brand to another central vacuum company, the same one that makes the duovac brand, and of course the Eureka and Sanitaire brands have been sold off as well. It does sound like they are pulling out of the United States market, at least when it comes to vacuums. Hopefully the "S" bags will be available for a while since that's what the Ultra One uses.

Thanks for everyone's input. I had a feeling that ship had sailed. I'm sure "S" bags will be around for quite some time (even if only in generic replacements), they're the same as Eureka style OX. It would be wonderful if Aerus could buy back the Electrolux name for the U.S. market. Imagine that new Platinum canister with the braided hose being released in this country under the Electrolux name? That would be awesome!
