Suckolux,
Ha! My coat closet is nearly the same...Electrolux Silverado and the Shark rocket. The rocket replace my Eureka boss straight suction Quick up stick vac when the handle broke. I hate using a broom and dustpan so like to have something for quick clean ups. My rocket came from Costco, doesn’t have the duo clean, but it was the one they had just before the duo clean came out with the hard floor hero and the multiplex wand with the locking joint that bends and folds so you can get under furniture without bending down and also fold it down in half for storage and it will stand alone without disassembly. Can even store it in a cabinet! Model is UV330. Today is vacuuming day...the dilemma of the day? Which one do I use? Lately been feeling lazy about vacuuming and that’s when I reach for the Shark rocket...it’s fast, nothing but the cord trails behind...it’s like using a canister without the hose and canister in tow which makes cleaning easier. I’m still amazed by the suction power of these little units, the weighty handle since the works are there took some getting used to by my arm but after a few uses was no longer an issue. I managed to get a mini power nozzle a flexible hose and a few other attachments for the rocket. I also use a 5 foot dog leash looped through the handle and clipped to the wrist strap to make a shoulder strap for when I want to use it with the flex hose and some attachments for things such as dusting or cleaning up high or other tight space jobs where the head might just be too clunky to use.
Maybe this will help our inquirer about selecting a vacuum for their hardwoods. I just love how the hard floor hero neck is so flexible and twisty and not too huge...I can turn it sideways and get in all sorts of tight spaces too like behind a big mirror we have on the floor up against a wall. All the versatility of a canister without the canister and hose. If my friend who was renting my house hadn’t bought one I don’t think I would have ever fallen in love with it or tried one. I wasn’t super impressed with hers at first, but then she passed away and I didn’t sell it at the estate sale as I had to clean out the house and kept it and finally took it home and tried it and came to really like it, I gave that one to my partner’s parents when they moved to a smaller house and they love it! I treated myself to a new Deluxe Pro Model at that time buying the one from Costco which included the hard floor hero. I wasn’t a fan of the clunky hard floor nozzle and mop pad attachment. It seemed clunky and big...I wrote into Shark saying I wanted a hard floor tool and within a few months they replaced that clunky nozzle mop pad thing with the hard floor hero on most models. Now the duo clean supposedly does a fantastic job and hardwoods...have yet to try one...what do you think of it’s performance both on floors and carpets?
