HELP! I NEED HELP HERE! Please bear with me and read through this and let me know what to do.
My step-dad's hoarder house is FINALLY livable and I had two sales to sell everything. The sale was in July and I was stampeded with early birds and a ton of stuff couldn't be put out in the sale. Mom had to work and the last thing I wanted was my step dad "helping" me and dragging junk back into the house. I had him confined to counting the cash and playing his games on the computer. So I single handedly sold, donated, threw away, and scrapped the stuff from the first sale and brought out (mostly) fresh stuff for the second sale. I had the second sale a couple weeks ago.
These vintage appliances were in BOTH sales with NO takers. The Coldspot fridge has hidden beauty. It was working when it was put in the garage...25 years ago...over a broken door latch. It's been sitting on a wood skid in the garage ever since. It is complete right down to the "Coldspot" ice tray. It needs total restoration though. It is white in color with a GIANT chrome handle and a "Coldspot" script emblem on the door.
The two other appliances, the RCA/Whirlpool range and the sink, are both PINK in color. The range is complete with all the knobs and trim and the sink is cast iron with a porcelain coating. There used to be a "dark room" for photo developing in the garage that was never finished and a very dangerous and cramped storage closet built by his dad behind it. I tore them both down last summer and the range was hiding in the rafters of the storage closet. the sink was sitting on the floor of the garage covered in junk. Condition wise they are very nice and will be a great addition to somebody's vintage home.
Sadly, I have to get these out of the house. They either get sold to somebody who can use them or are taken to the crusher just down the road. I have highlighted these items on Craigslist in the ads for BOTH sales. I can't ship the sink or the fridge and so they have to be picked up. I can ship the range though.
So is there a market for these or not? If I were to try selling these things, how would I go about it? Are they even worth the effort? I hate scrapping antiques but you can't save them all...
