What powernozzle is this?

The correct name is Preco

Based out of Los Angeles, and very popular in the early to mid 60's. Singer had them as an accessory, as did Rainbow and others. Here's a scan of the Rainbow D book. I have 3 or so of these and know where to find one more new in box. Greg

Wow

That's my basement! I found that Preco power brush brand new up in Kewaskum, WI on a trip with Tania not too long ago. He still has some if I am not mistaken. One came with my first Filtex central vacuum in 1977. Not a bad setup. As stated they were used by Sunbeam and Westinghouse as well. Also sold individually. I like them.

The Preco power nozzle only works really well with vacuums that have very strong suction. Otherwise, it just bogs down when you run it across a rug.

I have one that's white and turquoise, and is branded "Preco."

Beam Central Vacs also came with these, or it was an optional attachment avalible with a Beam. Many houses in our neighborhood in Sparta Wi (near LaCrosse WI) in the late 1960s, early 70s had a Beam system, and they all had a Preco. They were all the tan colored ones, with the darker tan on the bottom. Was totally facinated by them as a kid.
I did find one for sale on E-bay several years ago,,it was the Singer version,,came with a canned ham type Singer Golden Glide. Only problem is there is a large crack in the neck of the Preco,,so im affraid to use it too much.
I would LOVE to have one NIB,,is there one for sale somewhere? Please direct me, if avalible.

My Mother lived in a house in Upper Marlboro Md-outside of Wash DC-It was a "Levittown" house-the Black and Decker Central vacuum system had one of those Precor air powernozzles-for some reason-LOVED using it.When vacuuming time came-she let me do it.Would like to find another one of those.
