If it is Canadian its not a design I have ever come across here. The handgrip on the hose appears to be Eureka though so I would suspect US. Just a special (and simple) design made for Gambles.
Funny that Gambles in the US used the name Coronado as a house brand and MacLeods in Canada used it too. Wonder what the connection was.
Incidentally I have a 1956-57 Coronado from Canada and its unusual as well. Some features that are similar to Eureka but not the same. It does say made in USA on it though.
