I came across this Electrolux while browsing online this evening and I must say it has me stumped. I have emailed the seller for clarification, but I thought I'd post it here too and see what you all think about it. To me, the body looks like that of an Olympia One (with the brown paint color), but the top and bag door cover are that of a Super J. The hose looks like an original Super J hose, and the power nozzle looks like an older one that may have come with a 1205 and has been repainted. What do you all think?

Elux

The first Olympia had that body with smaller rear wheels later changed to bigger wheels and thicker bumper.The power nozzle is a PN-2 that always had a polished top.This was probably a vac store rebuild taking advantage of interchangability of parts and painting it in current colors.

So its entirely possible its a legit unit and not something just pieced together? I thought for sure I had come across a FrankenLux!

Elux?

The body is most likely Super J painted Olympia colors.SJ only used 1 body.Could possibly be 1st Olympia body or even Golden Jubilee body that was almost identical but about 1 inch shorter as it used 1205 motor and would have had terminal block inside at cordwinder.Both GJ & SJ had decal but missing in pics.PN2 power nozzle would have been with 1205 or L as it has blue elbow later changed to white for GJ.A vac store might have gone to back room and picked up machine,hose & nozzle from 3 different piles and rebuilt to look like current machine.A customer could then get a good Lux at a reasonable price and and could repair or add parts as many were interchangable.

Judging by the pictures of the vacuum and the hose it is a painted brown 1977-1978 Super J, one of the later ones. The power nozzle is a 1973 PN2 painted brown, it is an earlier generation PN2 judging from the color of the elbow.

This one....

however is probably only dumpster fodder as it is soaking wet, looks like they sprayed it off with a water hose to clean it. You think they would have at least wiped if off before listing, who would hose off an electrical appliance and try to sell it wet? Makes me think they probably put it away wet too?

@sarasvacshack

Lloyd, I kind of thought it seemed a little strange that the entire vac was soaking wet in the photos. Last time I checked, electricity and water just simply don't mix. I don't know who the seller is, but they don't appear to know much about it or care for that matter, otheriwse it wouldn't have been hosed off. I'm sure not spending $90 plus shipping for something that will be rusted down by the time I'd receive it!

This is actually how it was made, i grew up with this EXACT vacuum, ive never known the model name of it, as it was my grand fauthers and he lost all the manuals and papers when he moved to canada, its a great vacuum i wish i knew the model name tho, ill ask him again and see if my grand fauther rembembers

Judging from the yellow hose in the first pic, the wet vac, and the wet spot in the first picture, it looks like they drug it out of the shed, hosed it off and took pictures of it.

Ughhh. Amazing. : (
