Mine would have to be Dial A Matic. It is not just because I just got one, but it truly has good power for an upright of its time.

I like all vintage Hoovers, but I would say I like the convertible series the best because I grew up with convertibles.
My parents had a model 719 when I was 2, My grandma had a U4005.
Here they are in order, a model 70, model 1010, model U4057, model U4395.

29 , 64

I think these pre-Convertible models deserve mention as they not only ditched the industrial brown and grey colors, but were downright hot. 64 had a warmth about it. Sorry for no photos, but I don't have these models. Have only admired them from afar.

Thanks Fred!!

I've admired your photos for quite some time, especially your Kirby photos, but this is about Hoover. Evidently the 64 didn't come with a tool caddy? Every photo I have ever seen of them did not include the caddy. My aunt had a 64, but she did not believe that uprights had any business having above floor tools and used only her pixie for above floor cleaning. But I digress. Thanks Fred.

Actually Chris

Apparently - it did. Here is a publicity shot of the 64 with tools and caddy. Truly a beautiful machine and a somewhat rare one due to the transition to the "new" convertible.

Ahh

That explains it. That box caddy which was used with the early convertibles also, was not very durable, so it might explain why we don't see them often. But your photo shows why the 64 is my personal favorite. The pre-convertible line went out with a bang in this model. And interesting that this line of Hoovers seemed to age better than the 65s and early convertibles that warped and did not hold their shape very well.

Favorite Vintage Hoover

Of the ones I own, the 300, 475, 28, and 29 would be my favorites. Favorite Hoovers that I DON'T have would include the 825, 150, 26, and 63.

Favorite Hoover?

First choice would be the Hoover Model O! On a more practical note though, the Hoover model 541, next the Hoover Duster! I also like the 700, 150, Constilation (first models) Pixie, the (early model), Floor washer, and finally the Lark (broom vac)

My Favorite vintage Hoover is

My Mom's old Model 28 with all the tools. Still purrs like a kitten to this very day. But If I ever can find and buy a Hoover Model 14 Lark, I will think I had died and gone to vacuum heaven!!!!!!

Hoover Model 825

I just won one of these off of Ebay... It came yesterday and I must say it is a pretty neat old vacuum... But I still like my mom's model 28...Maybe not to many of these 825's around.. It was only manufactured from 1935 to 1936.....

Hoover 825

First cleaner anyone in my family ever owned! My great-grandfather won a load of money, and the first thing he bought was a gold watch and a brand new Hoover 825 with dusting tools as gifts for my great-grandma! He must have won a considerable amount of money, because the 825 was the most expensive of the 3 upright models Hoover were making at the time, and cost the equivalent of £1080 in modern currency!

My great-grandparents died when my grandma was 18, and she inherited both the gold watch and the Hoover 825. She still wears the watch today - the 825 soldiered on until the mid-1970s, when she decided that after 40 years of flawless service, she wanted a modern Hoover with disposable bags and bought a Junior 1346A. The 825, still going strong, was given to a neighbour.

These are my favorite

I also have a Concept One I like a lot, but it doesn't match the color scheme of these. I have full attachments for them all except the Convertible. I need a hose for it, then I can share the rest of the attachments from the DAM.
