What is Your Favorite Type of Carpet Line?

One of my favorite things about vacuums is the lines uprights leave on the carpet. For me, I like the ones created by Eurekas and Covertibles with the two wide lines. Some newer Hoovers also create strong lines. Here's some that made yesterday.

My favorite carpet lines are the ones produced by the Hoover Convertible! I also notice that the newer Koblenz Endurance Vacuum Cleaners produce almost the same Hoover lines, even though they are made like Eureka Uprights.

Either Eureka or Convertible uprights. Those leave nice lines on the carpet. I love the lines my '78 Eureka with the VG-1 leaves on the carpet.

My TriStar CXL w/VGII leaves very nice tracks on plush carpet; the Kirby leaves good tracks on shag.

Even an Electrolux PN1 or PN2 do nicely.

I think I'm probably going to say that I prefer to be not bothered about lines, bit like striped lawns, just seems to be a waste of time to do something which goes away after a relatively short while... :&#92

For making visible lines in the carpet, my 1993 Philips U800 800W has to be the best at that.

I believe it is due to the fact it has beater "flaps".

Hoover and Eureka's of the 70's.....

Hoover Convertible Model 70 or Eureka Top of the Line 2000 Series carpet lines.

Hi

Hi, I've noticed Kirbys leaves nice lines as well.

One thing I have noticed is that not all people like lines. In fact I've had a few customers over he years ask for a vac that don't leave lines.
I think it depends what type of carpet you have in your home as to whether you get lines or not.

HOOVER Convertible....

The ONLY lines ever made in this house. My aunt(the one whom we buried in Ireland), was a snoop.
God forgive me, but true. I caught her , because I vacuumed myself out of my room one day. When I went back in, there were little (size 6) shoeprints. HOOVER solved the crime. lol.
When I first saw carpet lines, I thought you meant carpet brands. If so, Karastan for me.

White House carpets

I read quite a bit including history and politics.One Washington book explained that when Ike was in the White House, Mamie had the maids brush the carpets after vacuuming to remove the lines.After leaving Washington Mamie and her maid went to the Gettysburg PA Electrolux office and bought 2 Model Gs and 1 Power Nozzle.I was told this by an Elux salesman who did a demo for Ikes son who had a Model R.The salesman was later the division manager for our area.

I would imagine that the old G.E. uprights would make nice lines as well. Since they were built on the same principle as the Eureka and Hoover Convertible.

Does not leave lines in my carpets.Which is nice as, they are plush wool looks all even and fluffed up.

It's nice to know that I own the same vacuum model that was used to clean the White House! I wonder what they use now.

hoover719: I used my new Hoover Dirtfinder, which is a Dimension with another name. How could you tell by the picture that the vacuum used Z bags?
