What is this

I found this hanging in a store today. I have no clue what this is? Can any of you help me?

It is a hand pumped vacuum cleaner. Uses a bellows or plunger type apparatus to create the airflow/suction.

Earth 20th century vacuum cleaner - they were hand-pumped like a bug sprayer so you had to pump it with one hand and move it with the other.

are these vacuums rare at all? do they have any value?

Not really

You'll find them for sale on Ebay fairly often. Sellers think that they are "rare" and "collectable". I've seen a couple listed for over a year. They don't understand that a conversation piece wall hanger is maybe worth $30 -$40. In completed auctions, I've never seen the $150-$200 asking price met.

I have a Reeves pump that I acquired for a reasonable price. It functions, and is fun to show and tell.

Not to valuable I have seen alot on ebay and never seen one close to 75 that sold I'd say 40-60 bucks is what some would pay and they are almost as rare as vacuum itself.

I've passed one up at the flea market priced at $10, I think it was the Elkhorn Flea Market in Wisconsin.
