Alright all you Kenmore folks. I have talked about this at every convention I have been to. Every year I say I will bring it and alway forget. So here is a picture.
It clearly is a Kenmore powerhead but it have along cord that plugs right into the wall. It works great but the cord isn't long enought to actully move around the whole room. I used it on my Connie with an extension cord a few times.
I what to know what it was for and when it was made.
I found it in an old vacuum shop one time. I was there and he asked me if I still collected old vacuums. Then he brought this out and said an old lady had just brought it to him for parst or whatever he wanted to do with it. So he gave it to me.

But why does it plug into the wall??? Why not a cord that plugs into the vacuum like other pn's?
I forgot to list the model number and the models of vacuums it goes with. I will do that when I get a chance later.

Probably purchased to use on older model vacs that did not have power head. Something like we do now with the add on turbo heads.

It does not have the button lock like the Kenmore canisters did at the time. I wonder if it was a "fit all" power nozzle that Sears sold for use on any vacuum.

Indeed, a very nice find!

It Looks

Very similar to my 1957 Saturn. This was one of the very first Kenmore Power Nozzles. Mine has the headlight, but take that away and change the color, and you have yours. I think that John may be right, it may have been sold as a power nozzle add-on for other machines. Notice the integrated wand on mine. Great find! I have never seen anything like it.

You are correct! I remember seeing that power Nozzle in the late 50's Sears catalog. To be used with your current tank
from Sears. Which was before they realized they could use
the current in the machine and clip the cord to the hose.
Rather then having it from the wall socket. What a mess
of cords and hose and machine.
Charles, thanks I have been trying to think of that orginal
Power nozzle on the late 50's Compact. ABC, you are absolutely
correct. Do you have one? If you do can you post a picture.
It looks like Jeff's PN on his Saturn, but with the hose attached with a handle grip on top. Then they had the regular
braided hose for the suction only tools.
Our neighbors traded an almost new 517 Kirby in on the C-6
Compact/w-ABC power nozzle, in late 58 or 59.
Mom had a demo, I was so disappointed that the sales man did
not show us the ABC P N. We had braided rugs, so he showed the
floor polisher! NO go for buying the compact. We had just bought a rebuilt Hoover 28 to help the ole Air way 66 with the carpet cleaning.

Thanks everyone for the info. so this could be a late fifties to early sixties? I love it and it work to well with anything. It has been the closet for years and got really dusty. I think I will put a new belt on it and run it every once in a while.
