Well, I just couldn't resist. I saw the auction, and well, you know the rest. I am now the proud owner of 25-yes TWENTY FIVE- electroluxes! I know some of you already have vac collections in the 100's, but 25 new vacs is still a lot for me! I have- i mean had- around 20 vacs before this...aquisition. Lol yes it was the lot of 25 e-luxes and misc. stuff on ebay.

It's only 2 1/2 hrs away, and I recently got some graduation money from relatives, so I figured why not? It'd be $20 + $30ish with gas and tolls (40 mpg is always nice!).but I dont really let reality get into the picture so lets just ignore gas and tolls to make me feel better. I mean I figured I needed tools and parts, and heck maybe a couple of those run, so..yea. And oh gawd getting 25 vacs and tools into my little hatchback should be...fun. I also realize the majority will probably have to be stored in the attic temporarily until I need them or can work on them...cuz there's no way I can use the basement right now, and the other vacs have already claimed the garage, so, attic for a little bit it looks like. Well, I'll have to update you guys again when I pick them up. Bye for now...

Talk about an instant Lux collection!! Were these for sale from a dealer or what? Please keep us posted and let us know how many of them run. Thanks

Way to go, N ick!!! Yippee.

I was watching these too, tho way too far away.

$20 for 25 vacuums and partz, how can ya go wrong? Just drive carefully and calmly, ok? And don't forget to eat lunch...

Having come back from several roadtrips with vacuums stuffed in above the windowsills of the Subaru wagon, I know the fun you'll have creating and unpacking the Chinese puzzle. Hope it's a sunny or at least rainless day. Do like I do and lay 'em all out in the driveway to take a Grand Full Monty shot and detail shots from all sides of the haul before schlepping them into hiding - we are all looking forward to that picture! Plus, it will aid you later as you go at each one in turn to remember or locate details. If there's time, also write down all the manufacturer's label info and the serial numbers of all the vacs before storage - same reasoning. I would be very interested to have the LX serial numbers posted here for my own researches.

There's bound to be some real treasures there, others can be created & completed from the lesser donor machines and the rest will make for excellent partz machines. You could even part out some of the leftover bits and earn your $20 & gas money back. :-)

Dave, proud of and very happy for you, Nick.

There are some nice machines there. At least one of the XXXs is an early version. Hope you'll post better pix than the seller did!
